At Inoventive 3D we have integrated professional-grade FDM and SLA 3D printing into our model making workflow, combining cutting-edge technology with traditional hand craftsmanship to produce models of exceptional quality.

What types of 3D printing do you use? +
We use both FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) and SLA (Stereolithography) 3D printing. FDM is ideal for larger structural components and rapid prototypes. SLA resin printing gives much finer surface detail and smoother finishes — we use it for decorative elements, facades and detailed architectural components. We select the best technology for each part of your model.
How accurate are 3D printed scale models? +
Our SLA resin printer achieves layer resolutions as fine as 0.05mm, making it extremely accurate for detailed architectural components. FDM printing typically achieves 0.1–0.2mm layer resolution. For scale model making, both technologies are more than accurate enough — the final precision of the model depends as much on the quality of the input file and post-processing as on the printer itself.
Can 3D printed models be painted and finished? +
Yes — all our 3D printed components go through a full post-processing workflow including support removal, sanding, surface preparation, priming and painting. The finished result has the same quality appearance as a traditionally built model. We can match any colour, apply metallic finishes, simulate glazing and add any other surface treatment required.
How fast can you produce a 3D printed scale model? +
3D printing is significantly faster than traditional model making for complex forms. A rapid prototype model can be completed in as little as 1–2 weeks. A fully detailed and finished 3D printed architectural model typically takes 3–5 weeks including printing, post-processing and finishing. We confirm a turnaround time when we review your files.
When should I choose 3D printing over traditional model making? +
3D printing is the best choice when your design has complex curved geometry, parametric façades, organic forms or intricate details that would be extremely difficult or time-consuming to fabricate by hand. For straightforward rectilinear buildings, traditional CNC and laser cutting often gives a better result. We always recommend the best approach for your specific project — often a hybrid of both methods.
What file formats do you accept for 3D printing? +
We accept STL, OBJ, STEP, STP, 3DM (Rhino), DWG, DXF, Revit (RVT) and most standard architectural and CAD file formats. If you have renders or PDFs only, we can work from those to build the 3D model ourselves — just ask us and we'll advise on the best approach for your project.
Do you deliver 3D printed models outside the UAE? +
Yes. We deliver 3D printed scale models worldwide — to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt and internationally. All models are carefully packaged and we offer on-site installation service at the destination. Contact us for international delivery options and pricing.
Can you add LED lighting to 3D printed scale models? +
Yes. We can integrate LED lighting, fiber optic systems and illuminated elements into 3D printed models just as we do with traditionally built models. We design the model with lighting in mind from the start — planning for wire routing, diffusers and light distribution to achieve the best illuminated effect.
